What Expenses Does Financial Aid Cover?

A cost of attendance includes direct and indirect expenses.  Direct expenses are items such as tuition, fees, and room and board.  The indirect costs are not billed by the college but are taken into consideration when looking at the cost of attendance.  Indirect costs could include books, educational supplies, rent, monthly bills, gas back and forth to school, laundry, personal expenses, and entertainment (in moderation).  It is up to the student to budget their refund to cover indirect expenses for the entire term.   Reading Outside
